Ministries
Many of the details of our Adult Ministries are listed
below. Contact the
church office for any details such as specific dates
and times, and how you can get involved. We welcome your
participation in all our events!
Christian Outfitters
(Adult Sunday
school classes)
Alpine Trek meets in the Fellowship Hall. It is
taught by a team of outstanding teachers and covers a
wide range of topics, from current issues to in-depth
bible study. David Abdo,
Dennis DuPertuis, and H Spees are the current teachers.
Sierra Trek focuses on in-depth bible teaching.
Jamie Evans leads many of the classes, and you are
encouraged to bring a pen to take notes, and an eager
mind to ask lots of questions. This class meets in the
Adult Lounge.
Outlook
meets in Room 101 and offers teaching with opportunities
to interact and discuss books of the Bible as well as
topics of interest. Check our weekly publication, "A
Place for You," for current offerings and class
facilitators. You will find a link to the most
recent edition by clicking here.
Base Camp/Discovery Trek is an eight week
course designed for those who are new to the church, as
well as those who want to know more about what we
believe.
It tackles such questions as:
-
What does it mean to be a Christian?
-
Does Christianity make sense for a thinking person?
-
What do Presbyterians believe?
-
How can I become a meaningful part of the family of
God?
This class meets at various times during the year.
Contact the church office to register and to find
out the next date for the class.

ALPHA Course
A-ANYONE INTERESTED in
discovering more about the Christian faith and new life
in Christ is most welcome.
L-LEARNING & LAUGHTER. We will learn about faith and
have fun at the same time in a warm fellowship.
P-PASTA & PASTRY. Sharing a meal together gives us
opportunity to get to know each other.
H-HELPING ONE ANOTHER. The small group interaction gives
you a chance to discuss questions and issues raised as
we learn together.
A-ASK ANYTHING. ALPHA is a place where no question is
regarded as too simple or too hostile. No pressure to
agree.
ALPHA begins with an Introductory Dinner on Friday March
17, 6:30 p.m., in the Adult Lounge at First
Presbyterian. After a leisurely, delicious meal and some
fun we will introduce ALPHA and hear a talk, “Christian
Faith: Boring, Untrue, and Irrelevant?” This is an ideal
time to invite a friend and introduce them to ALPHA.
Dinner is free with donations accepted; for
reservations, be sure to call the church office
(485-6460). Please read our

House Churches
Small groups of members meet together weekly in
homes at a variety of times to
study Scripture,
discuss issues of Christian living in today’s world,
enjoy fellowship, and
pray
together. Each group chooses its own agenda and subject
of study. A great way to make new friends and grow
together. Contact us
for more details.
